Naughty or Nice? – Buying a Gift For Your Girl
Normally I actually like going shopping as strange as that sounds for a guy. Although there’s one time of the year I absolutely loathe when it comes to shopping – Christmas! People always get in the way amidst the confusion, I feel pressured into buying the perfect presents and usually end up throwing in the towel making do with the nearest gift set to hand. But when it comes to buying for your girlfriend, you must persevere, after all, she’d do the same for you!
I’ve narrowed it down for you into four categories, you’ll know which one is for you.
Friends With Benefits.
Online dating sites are a great place to meet men and women if you’re just looking for friends but with other benefits. So if you don’t plan on dating her for long, no need to go over the top with your gift. She might get the wrong idea. Something under $40 will do.
1. A Sephora eye shadow kit – has over 15 colours.
2. Surprise her with a can of alcoholic cream. You’ll have some fun with that for sure!
3. You can’t fail with a gift card from Starbucks.
4. A couple of bottles of wine or champagne.
Dating Your Girlfriend For Less Than Six Months.
Given that the relationship is fairly new, keep it simple but nice. There’s no need to go over the top yet you want to send a sincere message at the same time.
1. When the time is right, peak at her bra size, then pay a visit to ‘Bras N Things’ and pick something in her favourite colour. Be extra sure you get the right size otherwise she may take offence.
2. If she’s into fitness buy her a yoga mat, gym bag, running shoes or an iPod Shuffle for when she’s burning the calories on the treadmill.
3. Most girls like to cook, or would at least like to be able to. Buy her a cookbook there’s a lot of them out there.
4. If you’ve run out of time (as many men do) and you need a quick fix, find a picture of the two of you together then pop down to K Mart and throw it in a picture frame. Sure it’s not extravagant, but it’s romantic and thoughtful.
Gifts For Your Girl After One Year.
Okay so things are getting serious by this stage, by now you’ll have distanced yourself from frat parties and well and truly closed your singles dating sites profile – well in theory you should have! You’ll know her pretty well by now and she’ll be expecting something to reflect this.
1. Let her know that she deserves a break whereby some pampering time is in order. Buy her a gift voucher for a two-hour session at the day spa.
2. Diamonds, makeup, chocolate and her favourite perfume. Pick out one of or a combination of these and pay special attention to the gift-wrapping and include a super romantic card.
3. Consider choosing something from an antique shop. Items like Super Nintendo, aged literature, classic records (as well as a record player) or even some unique cotton tops and skinny denims will probably all work nicely.
Serious Relationships of More Than Two Years.
1. Cut her a key for your house. Then put a ring on her finger. C’mon, it’s now or never!
2. If you’re still a bit nervous with such a commitment, you can always side step the moment with some fancy jewellery from Tiffany’s. Weekends away always do the tick nicely too.
