San Francisco Makeup Artist – 3 Tips to Find One for Your Wedding Day
Every bride wants to look her best on her wedding day, and San Francisco brides are no exception. Finding the right San Francisco makeup artist to handle your wedding is no easy feat. Not all cosmetologists are up to the tough task of keeping a bride looking beautiful on her wedding day. Don’t panic, though, because I’m about to give you three tips that will help you choose the right cosmetic artist to do your wedding makeup.
The first thing to do is to make sure that you get a licensed San Francisco makeup artist. Cosmetology is a field that requires training, and also has safety protocols. You don’t want an untrained cosmetic artist handling your look on your wedding day, and you certainly don’t want a cosmetologist who doesn’t know the proper hygiene guidelines for doing makeup for several people. A licensed cosmetologist will have properly cleaned and maintained tools, and will not get anybody else’s germs on you.
Next, you need to look at how long they’ve been in business, and what their experience is. Have they been in business for three years? Five years? Or have they been in business for over 10 years? Obviously, it’s generally better to go with people in the last category, but that’s not the only thing you should look for. How well-known are they for their skill? Have they won any awards or competitions? The best cosmetic artists often have, and will freely tell you about the ways they’ve shown their skills.
Finally, you want to make sure that the cosmetic artist you choose has done weddings specifically. Not all artists handle weddings, and being The Makeup person on-site at a wedding is a tough job with different requirements than other makeup jobs. If a cosmetologist has no experience in handling wedding makeup specifically, they probably aren’t the right choice for doing the makeup at your wedding. So, make sure that the cosmetologist you’re thinking about has experience with weddings, and not just with, say, stage makeup or TV makeup or other non-wedding types of makeup.
And that’s all there is to it! To recap, first you want to make sure that your cosmetologist is licensed. Then you want to make sure they’ve been in business for a decent amount of time, and have demonstrated skill in what they do. Finally, you want to check out their experience with wedding makeup specifically. If you’ve done all this, and the cosmetologist fits the bill, then you can feel confident using them to handle your wedding makeup.
